Floor Plates & Wall Brackets

Floor plates and wall brackets provide fixed anchor points for stands, lighting rigs and scenic structures where a stable base or wall-mounted fixing is needed.

MTN Shop stocks a range of floor plates and wall brackets for theatre, TV studio and live event applications. Floor plates spread load across a wider footprint for improved stability on stage or studio floors, while wall brackets offer a permanent or semi-permanent fixing solution for scenery, lighting or drape supports.

Wall Brackets and Hangers

The Wall Brackets for Concerts & Stages, available light or heavy duty, cover general fixed mounting to a solid wall. The 48mm Wall Hanger (100kg WLL) and Junior Wall Plate w/29mm Receiver give a tube or spigot connection point directly off the wall. For standoff mounting away from the wall surface, the Pipe to Wall Brackets, in 100mm or 300mm standoff, and Wall Mounting Plates (100mm, 150mm or 180mm, 150kg WLL) extend the fixing point further out.

Grid Hangers

For suspending fixtures from a grid or ceiling structure, the Grid Hanger (200kg WLL) fits 48mm pipe or barrel, with a Corner version for 90° positions. Where a hanger needs to be removed regularly rather than staying permanently fitted, the Demountable Grid Hanger and Demountable Grid Hanger Corner allow quick removal without disassembling the whole fitting.

Ceiling Mounting

The Ceiling Saddle (160kg WLL) mounts directly to a solid ceiling, and the Heavy Duty Universal Mounting Plates (600kg WLL) accept single through quin pulley configurations for higher-load rigging points.

Floor Plates

The Parcan Floor Plate accepts a hook clamp fitting for floor-mounted lighting, and the Turtle Plate w/29mm Receiver gives a low-profile floor base for uplighting or similar fixtures.

Baby Pin Hardware

For smaller lighting fixtures using the 16mm baby pin standard, the 16mm Baby Pin Wall Plate and 16mm Baby Receiver Plate provide the matching wall-mounted connection points.

Awning and Multibeam Brackets

The Heavy Duty Awning Brackets (400kg WLL) support awning and canopy structures, and the Heavy Duty Multibeam Brackets (600kg WLL) and Multibeam Girder Brackets (150kg WLL) mount any Doughty pulley across multiple beam widths.

Specialist Fittings

The Lantern Tee Bar mounts 2, 4 or 6 lanterns from a single fitting, and the Marquee Clamp, in Light (20kg), Medium (150kg) or Heavy-Duty (250kg) SWL, is built for temporary marquee and structure fixings rather than standard truss. The Angle Iron Bracket mounts to angle iron framework directly.

Warranty and Load Ratings

All floor plates and wall brackets sold by MTN Shop EU are genuine Doughty stock, sourced through official distribution, so full manufacturer warranty applies as it would from the brand directly. WLL varies significantly across this range, from 3kg on lightweight brackets up to 600kg on heavy duty mounting plates, so always confirm the specific model's rating for your application.

Choosing Floor or Wall Mounting

A floor plate suits a freestanding fixture where no wall or ceiling fixing is available, spreading load across a wider footprint for stability. A wall bracket needs a solid wall to fix into but generally offers a more secure, permanent connection at a smaller footprint. Match bracket WLL to the total weight of the fixture plus any additional hardware, not just the fixture alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

A floor plate suits a freestanding fixture where no wall or ceiling fixing is available. A wall bracket needs a solid wall to mount into, but generally gives a more secure, permanent connection in a smaller footprint.
A standard grid hanger stays permanently fitted. A demountable grid hanger is designed for quick removal without disassembling the whole fitting, useful where a fixture needs to come down and go back up regularly.
A baby pin is a 16mm connection standard used on smaller lighting fixtures. If your fixture uses a baby pin, you need matching baby pin wall plates or receiver plates rather than standard spigot or tube fittings.
No, only floor plates specifically designed to accept a hook clamp, such as the Parcan Floor Plate, work this way. Check the specific product's compatible fitting type before assuming a standard hook clamp will fit.
