They are, as nearly all have said, a little big. But if you have broad thick feet, keep to the sizing in my opinion, and as most people would also wear thicker socks. I walked in a very large stream with them on. The soles feel exactly like my very expensive walking boots, warm comfortable and very sure footed. The boot is of a good length too so walking in deepish water is ok. When I used them the water was quite cold and I had only normal sock on, my feet never got cold even though we were in the water for a long time. A good Wellington. Definitely get a smaller size, I'm always at least a size 9 or 43, but i followed the advice of the reviews and got an 8 or 42. Perfect fit even with decent socks and an extra insole. Boot is great, quite light, comfy and supportive.-----G
