SKEDCO - COMPLETE HMH Sked RESCUE SYSTEM
This stretcher is designed for use in mass casualty incidents, evacuations of mass casualties from hospitals or other buildings, or other incidents requiring Level A protection. The HMH Sked is extremely versatile. It can be dragged across almost any terrain, including stairs. It requires less effort from rescuers.
Patients can be rolled or dragged onto the HMH Sked instead of being lifted. This reduces rescuer fatigue and allows for the rescue of many more victims.
HMH Skeds can be stored and shipped on pallets, up to 200 per pallet. The HMH Sked is ready for use in 1-2 minutes. HMH Skeds can be rolled 1-4 per bundle for easy storage in rescue or firefighting equipment compartments. This allows for quick deployment by the first-response units.
Emergency procedures for incidents involving hazardous materials are not only dangerous but also highly complex, and the equipment is very expensive. These factors severely limit the number of non-ambulatory patients that can be removed from a contaminated zone. The HMH Sked and newly developed tactics better address these needs.
These include the ability to quickly transport a large number of patients while minimizing risk to rescue personnel. By using these creative and new techniques, the potential of this device is limited only by the creativity and expertise of trainers and field staff.
