Doughty SixTrack Electric Track Drive Unit

The Doughty SixTrack Electric Track Drive Unit (T63845) is a plug-and-play motorised system built to haul stage curtains up to 25 metres, and is not designed for lifting. Fitted as part of a continuous loop hauling line, the unit combines a hauling line tensioning system with a single phase track-mounted motorised capstan.

The drive is supplied with a wall-mounted variable speed control unit, which includes an emergency stop and comes with two limit switches for mounting on the track. The kit includes a 10-metre electrical cable and a 50-metre 24-volt control cable for the limit switches. The power supply is 230 V, 50 Hz single phase and must be fused at 5 A. Is the remote control included with the drive unit, or sold separately?
It's sold separately as an optional add-on (T63850). The base drive unit (T63845) comes with the wall-mounted variable speed control as standard, so the remote control is only needed if you want open/close operation without going to the wall panel.
Can this drive unit be used to lift anything, or only move curtains along the track?
Only to haul curtains horizontally along the track. It carries no working load limit for lifting and must not be used to raise or suspend loads vertically.
Can this system be installed outdoors?
No. It's designed for indoor use only, rated to operate between 15°C and 60°C, so it shouldn't be installed in exposed or uncontrolled outdoor environments.
