Flag Frames and Diffusion

The Flat Flag Frames/Gel Frames, available in 24", 36" or 48" square, hold flags, nets, silks or gels in front of a light source to shape or diffuse it. The Floor Standing Polyholder and Polyholders (25mm, 40mm or 50mm) hold flags and diffusion material at height without needing a separate stand.

Arms and Headers

For mounting multiple fixtures from a single support point, the Junior Arms & Headers and Baby Arms & Headers come as offset arms, double or triple headers, or adjustable side arms, letting one stand or boom carry several lights at different angles. For gobo projectors specifically, the Gobo Arms and Gobo Extension Arms position the fixture away from the main support.

Modular Rigging System

Doughty's modular rigging range builds custom lighting supports from interchangeable parts: the Modular Drop Arm Tee ⌀48mm and Tee w/Thru Connector form junctions, the Modular Drop Arm Extension (0.25m to 2m) and Adjustable Extension (1-1.7m or 2-3.7m) extend reach, and the Stirrup and Tanktrap Adapter connect the system to a tank trap base. The H Frame Assembly (200kg WLL) builds a complete freestanding rigging structure from these modular parts.

G Clamps and Flat Clamps

For clamping fixtures directly to set pieces, furniture or flats, the Heavy Duty G Clamp with Receiver (100mm to 250mm) and Flat Clamp with a fixed 29mm receiver both give a mounting point without needing a dedicated stand. The Gaffer Clamp adds dual 16mm receivers for mounting two smaller fixtures from one clamp.

Griphead System

The Double Grip-Head mounts fixtures at variable angles, a standard grip fitting used widely across film and broadcast, and the Griphead Pin w/ Collar provides the connecting pin between griphead and fixture.

Supaclamp System

The Doughty Supaclamp (20kg SWL) is a lightweight, compact clamp system with a full range of accessories: the Mounting Plate extends it to flat surfaces, the Grip Head and Offset Arm add angled mounting, and the Snap-in 150mm Extension, Threaded Socket, Joiner Stud, Studs and Pins cover the smaller connecting hardware for the system.

Pivot and Articulation Hardware

The Pivot Arm, a 360° rotating elbow (4kg WLL), and Stabiliser Coupler with Pivot Plug (four plug sizes) allow angled connections a fixed fitting can't accommodate. The Pivot Hinge and Pivot Hinge with Two Clamps (both 750kg WLL) provide heavier-duty pivoting connections.

Drop Arms

The Super Lightweight Coupler with a Drop Arm (10kg WLL) and Double Ended Drop Arms (100kg WLL, 500mm to 2m) drop a lighting position below the main support tube.

Weights and Site Fittings

The Sandbag 10Kg weighs down stands and light-duty rigging on set, and the Barrel Socket Clamp (250kg WLL) mounts equipment directly to tube or barrel.

Warranty and Load Ratings

All grip equipment sold by MTN Shop EU is genuine Doughty stock, sourced through official distribution, so full manufacturer warranty applies as it would from the brand directly. WLL varies significantly across this range, from 4kg on the Pivot Arm up to 750kg on the Pivot Hinge, so always confirm the specific model's rating before use.

Choosing the Right Grip Fitting

Match the fitting to the fixture weight and the mounting surface available: a G Clamp or Flat Clamp works where a set piece or furniture edge is available to clamp onto, while a griphead or Supaclamp fitting suits stand-mounted or tube-mounted rigs. For a build that needs to change configuration between setups, the modular rigging system lets you reconfigure without buying new fixed-length hardware.

Preguntas frecuentes

A G Clamp with Receiver gives one mounting point, sized from 100mm to 250mm. A Gaffer Clamp adds two 16mm receivers, letting you mount two smaller fixtures from the same clamp.
The modular system suits builds that need to change configuration between setups, since drop arms, tees and extensions can be combined and reconfigured rather than needing fixed-length hardware bought new each time.
A griphead mounts fixtures at variable angles rather than a fixed position, a standard fitting used across film and broadcast for quick, adjustable mounting of lights and accessories.
A wide base helps stability, but a sandbag adds extra weight low to the ground, reducing the risk of a stand or light-duty rig tipping over on a busy set, particularly useful with lightweight or top-heavy fixtures.
