Petzl VOLT® WIND European Version

Petzl VOLT WIND is a comfortable fall arrest and positioning harness for wind energy technicians, with an attachment point for movement along a vertical ladder or a rope-based fall protection system. 5 attachment eyes.

The VOLT WIND is a fall arrest and work positioning harness with five attachment eyes, specifically designed for wind energy technicians. FAST buckles allow for easy fastening with both feet on the ground, while self-locking DOUBLEBACK buckles allow for quick adjustment. The harness is designed for comfort, adjustability, and support during work at height.

The ventral LADDER CLIMB attachment eye can be used to connect a mobile fall arrester, allowing for easy and comfortable movement along a ladder or a rope-based fall protection system. Protective plates on the back of the shoulder straps and waist belt protect the webbing from friction-related wear during movement inside a wind turbine tower. Gear loops and tool holders make it possible to organize and carry all the equipment needed for the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the European and international versions of the Petzl VOLT WIND?
The European version of the Petzl VOLT WIND is certified to CE EN 361, EN 358, and EN 813, without the additional international standards (ANSI, CSA, GB, JSFAD) found on the international version. It is also lighter (from 1980g instead of 2365g) and does without the textile dorsal anchor point for a self-retracting fall arrest system, as well as the red fall indicator.
What are the protective plates on the Petzl VOLT WIND for?
They protect the webbing from the abrasion and wear caused by repeated contact with tight structures inside a wind turbine tower. Without this protection, the webbing would age faster and would need to be inspected or replaced more often.
Why is the European version of the Petzl VOLT WIND lighter than the international version?
The weight difference comes from the additional components found only on the international version, such as the textile dorsal anchor point and the extra certification requirements. For the European market, where this additional equipment isn't required, the version remains correspondingly lighter.
How do I choose the right size for the Petzl VOLT WIND?
For the Petzl VOLT WIND, consider waist size, leg loop size, and height together. Size 0 is suited to a height of 160–180 cm, Size 1 to 165–185 cm, and Size 2 to 175–200 cm. In borderline cases between two sizes, it's advisable to try the harness on before buying.
