Vertical Transport Plate Clamps at MTN Shop
Vertical transport clamps are lifting clamps designed to grip a steel plate by its edge and lift it in the vertical position. They are one of the most important tools in plate handling, used in manufacturing, fabrication and construction to lift and move flat plate, sheet metal and steel sections. Used with a hoist or crane, a vertical clamp grips the plate securely and many models allow the plate to be rotated through 90 or 180 degrees during the lift.
Vertical vs horizontal lifting clamps
The difference lies in how the plate is carried. A vertical clamp grips the plate by its edge and lifts it on its side, ideal for lifting from a stack, racking plates vertically or turning them. Types of vertical plate clamp

Choosing the right clamp
Select a clamp rated for the weight of your plate and check the jaw capacity, which is the range of plate thickness it can grip. Note that the plate surface usually needs to be below a certain hardness for the clamp to grip safely, so always check the manufacturer guidance and work within the safe working load.
